How to Cha Cha Cha – Class 004 – Beginner Moves
We demonstrate three easy-to-follow moves for you to learn each week, including lead-and-follow instructions and timing. You will become more confident and proficient as you build up the number of moves you know.
The flirtatious Cha Cha (sometimes referred to as the Cha Cha Cha) is one of the faster dances with quick foot actions, sharp movements, and a lot of hip action. It was developed in the 1950’s as a slower substitute for Mambo. It includes bending and straightening of the knees giving it a Cuban feel. Included as an International Latin dance.
Cha Cha Cha Basic Moves – Open Basic Movement, Alemana Turn, Three Cha Cha Cha’s, Open Hip Twist
STYLE: Cha Cha Cha
The Chasse action is more forwards and backwards on the Open Basic Movement, if preferred a crossing action could be used in place of the close. Notice the Alemana Turn is taken from facing the partner, equally Fan Position could be used. The Three Cha Cha Cha’s create a different rhythm to normal with a locking action, described as a Cuban Cross, the timing of 4&1, 2&3, 4&1 is used but with the forward or backward step of Open Basic Movement connecting the direction change on counts 2,3. A good lead with the left hand and arm is required but take care not to be too strong or big in the movement.
Cha Cha Cha week 004 Class – Videos
Dance lessons are delivered by two video tutorials for each class. One video demonstrates three moves, and one shows how to put those moves together in a dance to music. (This class is for members – please Join the Site for access to all the classes).
Example of how to put the 3 moves together to make a dance. Music was by DJ Ice “One Kiss” if you want to play the tune to dance to and practice. (There is no sound due to copyright).
We want you to be happy with the site and the way training and information is delivered. You should be comfortable with the format of the weekly lessons and learn at your own pace.
