Waltz Moves – 1-3 Natural Turn, Back Whisk, Chasse from Promenade Position

LEVEL: Beginner
STYLE: Waltz
This amalgamation combines the first part of the Natural Turn as a link to the Whisk. This is known as the Back Whisk as the man commences moving backwards and, in this instance, turn is also made. Very useful at a corner but can also be danced on the side of the room making a little more turn. Be careful as lady to remain in contact to the man when the Promenade is achieved. The following Chasse is as normal, try to develop the gradual rise over the first three steps and the following figure will be commenced with the man taking his right foot past the lady’s right foot, known as ‘outside partner’.

Waltz Week 005 Class – Videos

Dance lessons are delivered by two video tutorials for each class. One video demonstrates three moves, and one shows how to put those moves together in a dance to music. (This class is for members – please Join the Site for access to all the classes).

Example of how to put the 3 moves together to make a dance. Music was by DJ Ice “I Look To You” if you want to play the tune to dance to and practice. (There is no sound due to copyright).
